Dear Friends of Gilda’s Club Delaware Valley,
As we welcome in 2010, I hope you’ll keep Gilda’s Club Delaware Valley in mind for a financial donation or gift from our wish list. All donations benefit local families throughout the Delaware Valley and are used to support our program, which includes support and networking groups, lectures and workshops, social events and children and teen activities. They also help maintain our beautiful clubhouse where anyone touched by cancer can come for safe, non clinical, individualized cancer support. Free to our members… also means significant cost to operate… so every gift makes a big difference here!
Our program team is already working hard to plan new educational workshops and lectures for the coming year. Our children’s program leaders and volunteers are working hard to design fun activities aimed at helping kids deal with the effects of cancer in the family. We hope to expand our cancer program and activities to new satellite sites throughout the Delaware Valley by partnering with other organizations, hosting conferences and community educational forums and by extending our reach to “Veterans with Cancer” and their families. New volunteers will be welcomed, trained and put to work to support all areas of our program and clubhouse operations.
Gilda’s Club is really about its members – the courageous men, women and children facing the effects of cancer and treatment, the family and friends who love them, the hundreds of volunteers who give of themselves every day. Your gifts of support ensure our door stays open and that “no family has to face this difficult disease alone”.
Every day I see people walk through our red door and connect with so many others who really know what it is like to live with cancer. The magic of this place works because of your kindness throughout the year. It makes our cancer support community and this important work possible!
