What is it?
Offered at several Gilda’s Clubs throughout North America, Kid Support at Gilda’s Club is a peer support group for children who have a parent, grandparent, other family member or friend with cancer (either in treatment or post-treatment), or for children who have cancer themselves.
How does it work?
Developed by Dr. Ann Speltz, educator, breast cancer survivor, parent and author of The Year my Mother was Bald (Magination Press, 2003), this 10-week group offers children ages 4-11 an opportunity to make friends and learn skills to help them when cancer is in their lives.
